            What a wonderful year!  We have so many great memories. We took some time one morning to brainstorm some of our favorite things about this year.  The hands were waving to get a turn to speak.  Many of these thoughts received a loud chorus of agreement.  The following were all mentioned:

• Making two sacraments
• The science investigations especially the insect observations and the marble track
• The Mystery Readers
• The stories and level books in reading
• The teacher read alouds, including Gooseberry Park, My Great Uncle Dracula, and Because of Winn Dixie
• The volleyball game and cheer for Catholic Schools Week
• The Read-a-thon during Reading Month
• Our shrinky dink people for our graphs
• Our field trip to the Nature Center
• The songs and monthly poems during Math Meeting
• Fourth grade buddies
• The take-home bags including the guessing bag, the rabbit bag, and the weather bag
• The American history and government units in social studies which included Native American sand painting, making covered wagons, and class voting in precincts
• The landform project for social studies
• The holiday parties
• The partner graphing project which included visiting other classrooms for the survey
• Learning multiplication and division in math
• Baking cookies in math
• The Ice Cream Social with our tall flower garden display in the hall

Time constraints stopped the discussion.  They were still going strong when we had to stop.  I also have many wonderful memories of the year.  I have enjoyed watching the growth of the students academically, socially and spiritually.  The group was especially responsive to our religion lessons. I have enjoyed their eagerness to learn.  Their interest in the science lessons was amazing.  I have enjoyed their special connection and caring for each other, their sense of humor, and their desire to make the classroom a pleasant place to learn. I loved greeting them at the door each morning and seeing their smiles as they walked in the door.   I have enjoyed once again this year the support and help from all the parents.  It has been a wonderful year!
